Why it matters
Print material, nozzle and bed temperatures, diameter and colour name where the user will see them without unwrapping the spool.
A printed colour dot helps customers pick, though printed colour is a guide, not an exact match for the plastic.
Apply labels quickly to spools and vacuum bags as you pack, using roll labels in the size you set.
When a filament sells out, a quick label reorder keeps the next production batch moving.
Choose roll labels in a rectangle that fits the flat area of your spool, include material and temperature info, and use matte stock so the type stays readable. Start with 250 labels per colour and size.
Put the material (PLA, PETG, ABS) in the largest type and a colour dot beside it. Keep temperature ranges in a simple two-line block.

3D Printing Filament Labels FAQ
Yes, include them in your artwork. Keep QR codes large with good contrast and test scanning on your proof so customers can reach your data sheet.
Heat can affect any adhesive. Standard BOPP is not rated by us for hot enclosures, so test labels in your actual dry box or enclosure conditions.
Many spool labels are about 2 x 4 in, but spool designs vary. Measure the flat area, leave room around the hub, and share the size with us at the proof stage.
