Common applications
Equipment, machines and products get a large label with directions, safety notes or a diagram.
A large round or square on the lid of a food box carries the brand and sometimes the order or flavour.
Large labels on cartons, cases and bulk bags carry contents, batch and handling information.
Big circles, squares and rectangles make bold merch stickers for laptops, coolers, cases and toolboxes.
Gallon jugs of cleaner, soap or detergent take a large front label with directions and safety text.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Put the brand on the top third and the details below; on narrow strips run the name along the long side. Large labels are easy to overfill; group information into blocks and keep the brand clear from a distance.

4.5 × 5 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
Expect roughly $225.31 CAD for 1,000 matte roll labels at this size, which works out to $0.225 per label; 250 come to about $132.81. The table above lists more quantities. Your exact price, with standard shipping, appears in the quote builder as soon as you set the quantity.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 620 to 690 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
Yes. Enter the width and height the way your artwork reads; 4.5 × 5 and 5 × 4.5 in are the same price. For rolls, also pick the unwind direction so labels come off the roll the right way up for your product or applicator.
Check the straight wall, not the curved shoulder or base: you need at least 4.5 × 5 in of flat or gently curved surface. Wrapped around a round container, a 5 in length covers one about 1.6 in across, leaving a small gap.
Four stocks are available: matte (about $225.31 per 1,000 here), glossy ($238.83), clear ($256.85) and freezer grade ($274.88). Pick glossy for brighter colour, clear for glass and clear plastic, and freezer grade for anything stored cold.
Plan for a full panel with directions, nutrition facts or a long ingredient list plus a barcode. Keep important text and logos a little inside the cut line (about 1/16 in, 1.5 mm, is a good rule of thumb) and use a background that runs past the edge as bleed.
