That is about 12% more label area than the 1.25 × 4 in rectangle. Between sizes? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 1 × 5.5 in, 1.5 × 3.75 in and one step larger: 2 × 3 in, 1.5 × 4 in, or browse all label sizes.
Decide on portrait or landscape first; the quote builder prices both the same, and the unwind direction sets how the roll comes off. There is room for hierarchy here: one large element, one medium line and small supporting text.

1.25 × 4.5 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
On matte rolls, 250 labels are about $126.75 CAD, 1,000 about $130.42 and 5,000 about $231.93 ($0.046 each). Prices are approximate, taken from our live price list on October 6, 2026. Enter your quantity in the quote builder for the exact total with standard shipping included.
We wind rolls to your order. As a guide, a single-lane roll of 1.25 × 4.5 in rectangle labels on a 3 in core and up to 6 in across holds about 690 to 2,300 labels. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Larger orders are split over several rolls. If your dispenser or applicator needs a specific core, roll size or count per roll, add a note to your order.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 1.25 in by 4.5 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (4.5 in) covers a round container of about 1.5 in diameter with a small gap.
At about 5.62 sq in, think a brand, product name and a few lines such as flavour, weight or a short description. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
Quantities start at 100 labels and every order has a $50 minimum. At this size 100 labels already come to about $115.11, so the minimum does not change your price; most of a small order is the fixed set-up part, which is why the price per label drops quickly as you order more.
