Why it matters
A small foil seal next to your signature signals a limited edition and gives collectors confidence.
Print title, year, medium and your contact on a label for the back of the print or frame.
A seal on the tube or flat mailer shows care before the buyer even opens the package.
Print only the labels a new edition needs.
Choose a small round seal with foil for the edition mark and a rectangle for backer labels. Matte stock takes a pen. Start with 50 labels per edition.
Leave an uncluttered area for hand-numbering, and use a consistent seal across editions so collectors recognise it.

Art Print Labels FAQ
Individual numbers are separate designs. Most artists leave a blank area and number by hand with a pen on matte labels.
Foil works best on bold shapes. Keep fine lines out of foil areas and review your proof.
We recommend placing labels on the backer or packaging rather than on the artwork surface, since permanent labels cannot be removed cleanly.
