Common applications
Treat bags and jars take a front label with the flavour, weight and feeding guide.
Flat-bottom and stand-up bags need a front label big enough for roast or flavour, origin and weight.
A separate back label carries the nutrition table, ingredients and allergens so the front can stay clean.
Shampoo, cleaning and dish soap bottles need a tall front label with directions on the back.
Distilleries often choose taller or oval labels to match a premium bottle shape.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

about $205.63 for 1,0003 × 5.5 in (76 × 140 mm) gives you a large tall rectangle that fits pet treat bags and jars and coffee and snack bag fronts. That is about 10% more label area than the 3 × 5 in rectangle. The label covers about 16.50 sq in (76 × 140 mm) and has room for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions.
Not quite right? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 3.25 × 5 in, 2.5 × 6.5 in and one step larger: 2.75 × 6 in, 1.5 × 11 in, or browse all label sizes.
Leave the right edge clear if the label wraps a bottle, so the overlap or gap does not cut through text. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

3 × 5.5 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
About $180.37 CAD for 1,000 ($0.180 each) and $129.04 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $473.30, or $0.095 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 560 to 1,000 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
Matte BOPP is our default (about $180.37 for 1,000 at this size). Glossy is about $191.20, clear about $205.63 and freezer grade about $220.06 for the same 1,000. All of them are waterproof; choose freezer grade for cold or frozen products and clear for a no-label look.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 3 in by 5.5 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (5.5 in) covers a round container of about 1.8 in diameter with a small gap.
The price per label falls as quantity goes up: about $0.516 each at 250, $0.180 at 1,000 and $0.095 at 5,000. For bigger runs, choose a custom quantity in the quote builder to see the exact total.
