Common applications
A long strip wraps around a soap bar or a stack of products as a band.
Narrow labels for binder spines, archive boxes and book spines carry a title, date range or catalogue number.
Tumblers and mason-style candle jars take a band that wraps the vessel, so the scent name shows from every side.
A long label wraps all the way around a round bottle or jar, with the front design on one side and the details on the back.
A narrow band wraps a skein or ball of yarn with fibre content, weight and care notes.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 3.5 × 4.5 in, 2.25 × 7 in and one step larger: 3.25 × 5 in, 2.5 × 6.5 in, or browse all label sizes.
Leave the right edge clear if the label wraps a bottle, so the overlap or gap does not cut through text. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

2 × 8 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
About $182.57 CAD for 1,000 ($0.183 each) and $130.29 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $487.66, or $0.098 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.
We wind rolls to your order. As a guide, a single-lane roll of 2 × 8 in rectangle labels on a 3 in core and up to 6 in across holds about 390 to 1,500 labels. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Larger orders are split over several rolls. If your dispenser or applicator needs a specific core, roll size or count per roll, add a note to your order.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
Plan for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions. Keep important text and logos a little inside the cut line (about 1/16 in, 1.5 mm, is a good rule of thumb) and use a background that runs past the edge as bleed.
Four stocks are available: matte (about $182.57 per 1,000 here), glossy ($193.53), clear ($208.13) and freezer grade ($222.74). Pick glossy for brighter colour, clear for glass and clear plastic, and freezer grade for anything stored cold.
Quantities start at 100 labels and every order has a $50 minimum. At this size 100 labels already come to about $127.95, so the minimum does not change your price; most of a small order is the fixed set-up part, which is why the price per label drops quickly as you order more.
