Common applications
Treat bags and jars take a front label with the flavour, weight and feeding guide.
Flat-bottom and stand-up bags need a front label big enough for roast or flavour, origin and weight.
Craft brewers use labels sized to the bottle shoulder-to-base height; growlers take larger panels.
Wine front labels are commonly around 3 to 4 in wide, sized to the bottle's straight wall.
Pint jars and larger containers give you a tall panel for a strong design plus the required text.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

about $234.00 for 1,0004 × 4.5 in (102 × 114 mm) gives you a large near-square rectangle that fits pet treat bags and jars and coffee and snack bag fronts. That is about 6% more label area than the 4 × 4.25 in rectangle. The label covers about 18.00 sq in (102 × 114 mm) and has room for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions.
Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 3.5 × 5 in, 2.5 × 7 in and one step larger: 3 × 6 in, 2.25 × 8 in, or browse all label sizes.
Leave the right edge clear if the label wraps a bottle, so the overlap or gap does not cut through text. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

About $205.26 CAD for 1,000 ($0.205 each) and $133.06 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $585.50, or $0.117 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.
We wind rolls to your order. As a guide, a single-lane roll of 4 × 4.5 in rectangle labels on a 3 in core and up to 6 in across holds about 690 to 770 labels. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Larger orders are split over several rolls. If your dispenser or applicator needs a specific core, roll size or count per roll, add a note to your order.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
4 × 4.5 in is about 102 × 114 mm. You can switch the quote builder to centimetres and enter the size in cm if your packaging is specified in metric.
At about 18.00 sq in, think a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
Check the straight wall, not the curved shoulder or base: you need at least 4 × 4.5 in of flat or gently curved surface. Wrapped around a round container, a 4.5 in length covers one about 1.5 in across, leaving a small gap.
