Common applications
Flat-bottom and stand-up bags need a front label big enough for roast or flavour, origin and weight.
Tall bottles suit an oval badge or a tall rectangle with origin and volume.
Treat bags and jars take a front label with the flavour, weight and feeding guide.
A separate back label carries the nutrition table, ingredients and allergens so the front can stay clean.
A tidy label on a gift box or basket with the brand or a seasonal message.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

about $201.53 for 1,000As a large classic rectangle, 3 × 4.5 in suits coffee and snack bag fronts, olive oil and vinegar bottles and similar jobs. It has roughly 6% more space than a 3 × 4.25 in rectangle. The label covers about 13.50 sq in (76 × 114 mm) and has room for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions.
Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 3.25 × 4 in, 2 × 6.5 in and one step larger: 2.25 × 6 in, 1.5 × 9 in, or browse all label sizes.
Leave the right edge clear if the label wraps a bottle, so the overlap or gap does not cut through text. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

3 × 4.5 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
On matte rolls, 250 labels are about $131.53 CAD, 1,000 about $176.78 and 5,000 about $467.98 ($0.094 each). Prices are approximate, taken from our live price list on October 6, 2026. Enter your quantity in the quote builder for the exact total with standard shipping included.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 690 to 1,000 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
At about 13.50 sq in, think a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
Check the straight wall, not the curved shoulder or base: you need at least 3 × 4.5 in of flat or gently curved surface. Wrapped around a round container, a 4.5 in length covers one about 1.5 in across, leaving a small gap.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
Quantities start at 100 labels and every order has a $50 minimum. At this size 100 labels already come to about $127.03, so the minimum does not change your price; most of a small order is the fixed set-up part, which is why the price per label drops quickly as you order more.
