Common applications

Where 2 × 5 in rectangle labels work well.

01

Tea tins and canisters

Round tins take a tall side label or a lid label with the blend name and steeping notes.

02

Soap bars and belly bands

A long strip wraps around a soap bar or a stack of products as a band.

03

Supplement bottles

Capsule and powder bottles need a wide label for the product name, dosage and supplement facts.

04

Nutrition and ingredient panels

A separate back label carries the nutrition table, ingredients and allergens so the front can stay clean.

05

Binder, book and archive box spines

Narrow labels for binder spines, archive boxes and book spines carry a title, date range or catalogue number.

These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Is 2 × 5 in the right size?

2 x 5 in gives a long, narrow panel for tall bottles and spice or tea tins where the name runs vertically. The label covers about 10.00 sq in (51 × 127 mm) and has room for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions.

Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 1.5 × 6.5 in, 2.5 × 4 in and one step larger: 1.25 × 8 in, 3 × 3.5 in, or browse all label sizes.

Designing a 2 × 5 in rectangle label

Leave the right edge clear if the label wraps a bottle, so the overlap or gap does not cut through text. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

questions.

Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.

How much do 2 × 5 in rectangle labels cost?+

About $151.67 CAD for 1,000 ($0.152 each) and $129.30 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $346.36, or $0.069 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.

How many 2 × 5 in rectangle labels fit on one roll?+

Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 620 to 1,500 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.

Which material should I choose for 2 × 5 in rectangle labels?+

Matte BOPP is our default (about $151.67 for 1,000 at this size). Glossy is about $160.77, clear about $172.90 and freezer grade about $185.03 for the same 1,000. All of them are waterproof; choose freezer grade for cold or frozen products and clear for a no-label look.

Can I order 5 × 2 in instead of 2 × 5 in?+

It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.

What can I fit on a 2 × 5 in rectangle label?+

Plan for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions. Keep important text and logos a little inside the cut line (about 1/16 in, 1.5 mm, is a good rule of thumb) and use a background that runs past the edge as bleed.

How do I check that a 2 × 5 in label fits my container?+

Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 2 in by 5 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (5 in) covers a round container of about 1.6 in diameter with a small gap.
