Common applications
Narrow labels for binder spines, archive boxes and book spines carry a title, date range or catalogue number.
A narrow band wraps a skein or ball of yarn with fibre content, weight and care notes.
A long strip wraps around a soap bar or a stack of products as a band.
Long narrow strips run along shelf edges, bin fronts and drawers with a product name, location or price.
Tumblers and mason-style candle jars take a band that wraps the vessel, so the scent name shows from every side.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Not quite right? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 2.5 × 4.5 in, 2.25 × 5 in and one step larger: 1.25 × 9 in, 3 × 4 in, or browse all label sizes.
Decide on portrait or landscape first; the quote builder prices both the same, and the unwind direction sets how the roll comes off. A label this big can carry the whole story, but leave white space so the product name still stands out.

Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
About $155.30 CAD for 1,000 ($0.155 each) and $128.65 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $362.25, or $0.072 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 410 to 1,900 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
Four stocks are available: matte (about $155.30 per 1,000 here), glossy ($164.62), clear ($177.04) and freezer grade ($189.47). Pick glossy for brighter colour, clear for glass and clear plastic, and freezer grade for anything stored cold.
Yes. Enter the width and height the way your artwork reads; 1.5 × 7.5 and 7.5 × 1.5 in are the same price. For rolls, also pick the unwind direction so labels come off the roll the right way up for your product or applicator.
Check the straight wall, not the curved shoulder or base: you need at least 1.5 × 7.5 in of flat or gently curved surface. Wrapped around a round container, a 7.5 in length covers one about 2.4 in across, leaving a small gap.
Plan for a full front label with a description, or a back label with ingredients and directions. Keep important text and logos a little inside the cut line (about 1/16 in, 1.5 mm, is a good rule of thumb) and use a background that runs past the edge as bleed.
