Common applications
Big labels on pallets, master cartons and totes show contents, destination and lot number from a distance.
Large labels turn boards, menus and display stands into printed signs without a separate print shop.
Logos, opening hours and promotions on doors, windows and display cases; waterproof BOPP stands up to cleaning.
Feed, soil, coffee and flour bags need a large label with the product, weight and batch.
1 to 5 gallon pails and large tubs need a big front or lid label with the product name, contents and handling notes.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Between sizes? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 7.5 × 12 in, 8.5 × 11 in and one step larger: 9 × 11 in, 9 × 12 in, or browse all label sizes.
Put the brand on the top third and the details below; on narrow strips run the name along the long side. Design at full size and check it from a few steps back: headline text should be large enough to read at a distance, and images need enough resolution for the print size (about 300 dpi at final size).

8 × 12 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
Expect roughly $550.63 CAD for 1,000 matte roll labels at this size, which works out to $0.551 per label; 250 come to about $219.08. The table above lists more quantities. Your exact price, with standard shipping, appears in the quote builder as soon as you set the quantity.
We wind rolls to your order. As a guide, a single-lane roll of 8 × 12 in rectangle labels on a 3 in core and up to 6 in across holds about 260 to 390 labels. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Larger orders are split over several rolls. If your dispenser or applicator needs a specific core, roll size or count per roll, add a note to your order.
Yes. Enter the width and height the way your artwork reads; 8 × 12 and 12 × 8 in are the same price. For rolls, also pick the unwind direction so labels come off the roll the right way up for your product or applicator.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 8 in by 12 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (12 in) covers a round container of about 3.9 in diameter with a small gap.
Quantities start at 100 labels and every order has a $50 minimum. At this size 100 labels already come to about $145.30, so the minimum does not change your price; most of a small order is the fixed set-up part, which is why the price per label drops quickly as you order more.
At about 96.00 sq in, think sign-style artwork: big graphics readable from across a room, or a full sheet of instructions, specs or a diagram. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
