Choose 8.5 × 14 in when you need a sign-size classic rectangle; it works well for menus, price boards and display signs and pallet and master-carton labels. It has roughly 27% more space than a 8.5 × 11 in rectangle. For scale, it is about the size of a sheet of legal paper. We print them on waterproof BOPP in Kitchener and wind them onto rolls, with about $634.44 for 1,000 as a starting point.

It has roughly 27% more space than a 8.5 × 11 in rectangle. The label covers about 119.00 sq in (216 × 356 mm) and has room for sign-style artwork: big graphics readable from across a room, or a full sheet of instructions, specs or a diagram. That is close to the size of a sheet of legal paper.
Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 9 × 12 in, 10 × 11 in and one step larger: 10 × 12 in, 11 × 12 in, or browse all label sizes.
Decide on portrait or landscape first; the quote builder prices both the same, and the unwind direction sets how the roll comes off. Design at full size and check it from a few steps back: headline text should be large enough to read at a distance, and images need enough resolution for the print size (about 300 dpi at final size).

Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
Expect roughly $634.44 CAD for 1,000 matte roll labels at this size, which works out to $0.634 per label; 250 come to about $252.79. The table above lists more quantities. Your exact price, with standard shipping, appears in the quote builder as soon as you set the quantity.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 220 to 370 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. The range depends on whether the long or short side runs along the roll, which follows the unwind direction you choose. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
Yes. Enter the width and height the way your artwork reads; 8.5 × 14 and 14 × 8.5 in are the same price. For rolls, also pick the unwind direction so labels come off the roll the right way up for your product or applicator.
Plan for sign-style artwork: big graphics readable from across a room, or a full sheet of instructions, specs or a diagram. Keep important text and logos a little inside the cut line (about 1/16 in, 1.5 mm, is a good rule of thumb) and use a background that runs past the edge as bleed.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 8.5 in by 14 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (14 in) covers a round container of about 4.5 in diameter with a small gap.
No. Switch the label type to Label sheets in the quote builder: 1,000 matte sheet labels are about $611.78 at this size, against $634.44 for rolls.
