Common applications
Big labels on pallets, master cartons and totes show contents, destination and lot number from a distance.
Logos, opening hours and promotions on doors, windows and display cases; waterproof BOPP stands up to cleaning.
Equipment, machines and products get a large label with directions, safety notes or a diagram.
A long label wraps all the way around a round bottle or jar, with the front design on one side and the details on the back.
Tubs of protein powder and pre-workout need a tall wraparound label with the flavour, directions and supplement facts.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

That is about 6% more label area than the 4 × 12 in rectangle. Need a little more or less room? Compare rectangle labels one step smaller: 4.5 × 11 in, 5 × 10 in and one step larger: 6.5 × 8 in, 7 × 7.5 in, or browse all label sizes.
Decide on portrait or landscape first; the quote builder prices both the same, and the unwind direction sets how the roll comes off. Large labels are easy to overfill; group information into blocks and keep the brand clear from a distance.

4.25 × 12 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
On matte rolls, 250 labels are about $159.52 CAD, 1,000 about $355.15 and 5,000 about $932.13 ($0.186 each). Prices are approximate, taken from our live price list on October 6, 2026. Enter your quantity in the quote builder for the exact total with standard shipping included.
Typically about 260 to 730 per roll, based on one lane of labels on a 3 in core wound up to 6 in across. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Bigger orders ship on more than one roll, and you can ask for a set count per roll in your order notes.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 4.25 in by 12 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (12 in) covers a round container of about 3.9 in diameter with a small gap.
About 108 × 305 mm. If your packaging drawings are metric, switch the quote builder to CM and type the size directly.
Quantities start at 100 labels and every order has a $50 minimum. At this size 100 labels already come to about $127.80, so the minimum does not change your price; most of a small order is the fixed set-up part, which is why the price per label drops quickly as you order more.
