Common applications
Shampoo, cleaning and dish soap bottles need a tall front label with directions on the back.
Equipment, machines and products get a large label with directions, safety notes or a diagram.
Distilleries often choose taller or oval labels to match a premium bottle shape.
Big circles, squares and rectangles make bold merch stickers for laptops, coolers, cases and toolboxes.
A large round or square on the lid of a food box carries the brand and sometimes the order or flavour.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

Decide on portrait or landscape first; the quote builder prices both the same, and the unwind direction sets how the roll comes off. Large labels are easy to overfill; group information into blocks and keep the brand clear from a distance.

4 × 5.5 in rectangle labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
About $212.47 CAD for 1,000 ($0.212 each) and $130.12 for 250, on matte roll stock. At 5,000 the total is about $573.44, or $0.115 per label. These are approximate prices from our live price list as of October 6, 2026; the quote builder shows your exact price, including standard shipping, before you add to cart.
Rolls are wound to order, so the count can be adjusted. Our guide figure is about 560 to 770 labels per single-lane roll, assuming a 3 in core and a roll up to 6 in across. Where you land in that range depends on the unwind direction: the long side running along the roll gives fewer labels per roll. Tell us in the order notes if your applicator needs something different.
Measure the flat or straight part of the container. The label needs a panel at least 4 in by 5.5 in, with a little margin. If you want it to wrap all the way around, the long side (5.5 in) covers a round container of about 1.8 in diameter with a small gap.
It is the same label turned 90 degrees, and the price is identical. Type the size the way your artwork reads (portrait or landscape), then choose the unwind direction that suits how you apply the labels.
At about 22.00 sq in, think a full panel with directions, nutrition facts or a long ingredient list plus a barcode. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
About 102 × 140 mm. If your packaging drawings are metric, switch the quote builder to CM and type the size directly.
