Common applications
Short codes, prices and batch or lot numbers you add to products and shelves in small text.
A neat badge on a ring box, earring card or gift pouch keeps the presentation simple and branded.
Close envelopes, invitations and thank-you cards with a branded seal instead of tape.
Mark sample sets, stock bins, files or test batches with a colour or a single letter so they can be sorted at a glance.
QR codes stay reliably scannable when the code itself is at least about 0.8 in across, which these sizes allow with a margin.
These are typical uses, not requirements. Measure your container first; the FAQ below shows how.

about $138.63 for 1,000A one-inch square is a classic seal or logo dot that fits on lids, tins and small boxes without crowding other packaging. The label covers about 1.00 sq in (25 × 25 mm) and has room for a logo plus a product name, or two or three short lines of text.
Not quite right? Compare square labels one step smaller: 0.5 × 0.5 in, 0.75 × 0.75 in and one step larger: 1.25 × 1.25 in, 1.5 × 1.5 in, or browse all label sizes.
Square labels are a good home for a QR code or icon grid because the space is used evenly. Small labels need bold, simple artwork: a strong logo and short words read better than a list.

1 × 1 in square labels FAQ
Prices and roll counts on this page are estimates. The quote builder gives your exact price before checkout, and every order starts with a free proof.
On matte rolls, 250 labels are about $108.28 CAD, 1,000 about $121.61 and 5,000 about $124.59 ($0.025 each). Prices are approximate, taken from our live price list on October 6, 2026. Enter your quantity in the quote builder for the exact total with standard shipping included.
Typically about 2,800 per roll, based on one lane of labels on a 3 in core wound up to 6 in across. Bigger orders ship on more than one roll, and you can ask for a set count per roll in your order notes.
At about 1.00 sq in, think a logo plus a product name, or two or three short lines of text. A good rule of thumb is to keep text about 1/16 in (1.5 mm) inside the cut line and run backgrounds past the edge.
1 × 1 in is about 25 × 25 mm. You can switch the quote builder to centimetres and enter the size in cm if your packaging is specified in metric.
Check the straight wall, not the curved shoulder or base: you need at least 1 × 1 in of flat or gently curved surface. Wrapped around a round container, a 1 in length covers one about 0.4 in across, leaving a small gap.
Same price on rolls. The 1 × 1 in square gives 1.00 sq in against about 0.79 sq in for a 1 in circle, about 27% more room for text, while the circle sits more neatly on round lids.
